DJ MAEL aka NOMAD from Paris/France runs Mindcontrol Records alongside DJ LESTAT aka TALAMASCA. Mael is djing since 1992. After two albums, his live and studio act Nomad has reached the highest sound quality meeting with most pumping sequences!

For the very first time our Progressive A&R DJ MAGICAL from Hamburg/Germany will celebrate one of his famous Area 51 parties open air - a very nice and special Northern German festival with a big family vibe, one week after this year's VooV Experience. Magical is supported by the Psyngroove party team from Hamburg, a couple of very experienced guys known pretty well from their former psy club Traxx.
Being active before and behind the scenes in German psyland for ages, Magical could easily get old friends such as Antaro, Axel and S.U.N. Project to play at the Area 51 Open Air, of course alongside some of our label acts and friends including Electric Universe, Planet B.E.N., Blackout and Shiva Chandra as well as some exciting new talent, most of them from the Hamburg region. So this is where old and new names, acts that are famous world wide and fresh artists from this wonderful Trance and Dance metropolis meet with guests from abroad to rock together one weekend long. We are so very much looking forward to this special festival!!
The music will start on Saturday, 11:00 in the morning already and will play until late Sunday evening. It follows the general idea to create a special vibe using one dance floor only, building up from the more minimal feel in the daytime to heavy psychedelic music in the night - and back to smooth morning sounds when the sun comes back again.
There's a lake not far from the dance floor where you can cool down from time to time.

WORLD WIDE UNITE IN BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA - 28-31 JULY
Join us at our summer vacation at Rumpeltänzchen Open Air in Bosnia-Herzegovina on end of July! Our Progressive A&R DJ MAGICAL from Hamburg/Germany was involved pretty much in planning and booking the festival's line up, and with his mate Fabio and their live act FM will play a special designed opening at the psychedelic main floor on Friday night, 28 July. Music at the second stage already starts on Tuesday before
World Wide Unite is the message with Planet B.E.N. Records acts such as D-Tek (Mexico), Planet B.E.N. (Germany) and Blackout (Israel). The FM guys will be playing DJ sets as well, and you will meet our friends from Albania, T-Ground, El Tani and Bisturi - alongside many more great artists like D-Nox (Germany), Sabaii Sabaii (Thailand), Lani (Belgium), Goma (Switzerland), Space Safari (Germany), Shawnodese (Holland/Venezuela), Axel (Germany) …

Seven years after their first festival, German Rumpeltänzchen crew found a very nice place in the Sun, not far from the Adriatic Sea and close to Croatia that is fit for an international festival with a line up ranging from heavy Psychedelic to Electrohouse. World Wide Unite is the message, and this means that artists from Bosnia and other Balkan countries will play of course, Wedran and Vanja for example.
The festival site is located at an altitude of 700 meters among nice trees and surrounded by high mountains. It includes a family area and offers a small river as well so that in the anticipated heat you can always cool down.
The camping area will already open on the Monday before the festival with a nightly music program starting on Tuesday, concentrating on the more minimal sounds to get more psychedelic the closer the weekend comes. The main floor will open on Friday.
The second floor will be equipped with a circus tent. The festival crew are working on a beautiful décor inspired by fairy tales (such as their German name is;) that will be supported a lot by the wonderful views and nature that expect you.
The festival has big support from the locals, which is not only the local psyheads and party crowd, but all the people. The major as well as even people from the government stated that they are happy to have such a peace loving event in their country. The UN troops still based down there help by putting up showers and toilets for the crowd.

So all in all we can only add: This is going to be a wonderful week spent amongst friends with lots of exciting music and the Sun. We would be very pleased to meet you there as well :')

2005 was a very successful year for Electric Universe. Countless live acts all over the globe brought a lot of inspiration for the new, the 8th album “Silence in Action”. It contains 10 smash hits from dark night over blissful morning tunes to floating daytime trance. This record brings the unique Electric Universe sound to a total new level of production quality and content. Ecstatic, psychedelic and Full On. With the track “Tune Up” the album includes an amazing cooperation with Anne Clark, and of course “Meteor” Guitarero Roland Wedig joined with some of his burning chords. Boris has recently founded his own label Electric Universe Records and already built up his distribution for most of Europe. Still for the first release “Silence in Action” he decided to cooperate with Planet B.E.N. Records to take care of the release in other parts of the world such as Asia, Russia or South America as well as of the promotion.

The labels of two of the best known German psy artists will cooperate again for the next Electric Universe album, which will already be released in late 2006. It will be a thrilling remix album, containing Electric Universe remixes of other artitsts’ tracks as well as a number of massive remixes of Electric Universe tunes done by some of the best Psytrance producers around. So stay tuned for our label news!

Boris Blenn, Psytrance producer of the very first hour has enriched the dance floors of the planet with hundreds of live performances and many hit tunes over the years. Such as the Breakbeat monster “Online Information”, the best known guitar tune in Trance, “Meteor” - or “The Prayer”, to mention just a few. With far over 150,000 records sold Boris is one of the top producers of the scene. The core of the Electric Universe productions and performances has to be its infectious, uplifting energy. “Being creative in the studio is working with the Divine. It is about bliss and of course about how to make people dance and enjoy themselves,” Boris states.
The Electric Universe project was founded in 1991 by Boris Blenn in Hamburg, Germany. Being inspired by the first big Voov Experience party, some of his first Psytrance orientated tracks found their way to DJ Antaro, who had just started his label Spirit Zone. The Electric Universe “Solar Energy” maxi single was the second release on Spirit Zone. It turned out to be a big hit and set the ground for the first album “One Love” in 1994. More and more Trance partys were taking place and Electric Universe started to play, mainly in Germany at first, later all around the globe. 1997 was the year of the “Stardiver” album, with the massive track “Online Information”, that blew the dance floors everywhere and came to be a blueprint for Breakbeat Trance. In 1999 Roland Wedig joined Electric Universe and the result of the first cooperation was the track “Meteor” on the “Blue Planet” album. This kicking tune, with its expressive guitar lines was played on practically every party for well over a year and probably is the most often played guitardriven Psytrance tune of all times. In 2004 “Cosmic Experience” was released including the “Prayer” track, outstanding through the amazing vocals of an Indian prayer. Because of the closing down of Spirit Zone Records in 2005 this album was the last one in more than ten years of cooperation with Antaro’s label.
Boris Blenn is also successfully working on several side projects such as Jupiter 8000 on Nova Tekk/Liquid Audio/Avatar Recods. The chill project Galaxy had its first two releases on Blue Room. The third Galaxy album “Science of Ecstasy”, released on Chillcode in 2005, got No. 1 in the Official German Chill Out Charts. Lots of cooperations have been happening in the last few years with artists such as DJ Sangeet, S.U.N. Project, GMS, Four Winds Circle, and especially Olli Wisdom (Space Tribe).

“INTOXICATED” is the second solo album by the former Biodegradable, and again the Mekka full force will rock your socks off. Almost three years have passed since Nikka’s debut album on Spirit Zone was celebrated round the globe. Three years being heavily in demand on the international psy scene, pushing on the big festival main floors with his live act and DJ sets, travelling round the trance world and back. All the while still releasing numerous tracks on some of the best psychedelic labels around – such as PLANET B.E.N. RECORDS ;-)

“INTOXICATED” brings part of this journey to you. With all of his experience Nikka has taken his project to the next level, taking full advantage of new possibilities in technology as well. You will hear it in his crystal clear production, super tight rhythmic work, massive basslines, and of course in the musicality of this album, being one of the main driving forces. “What to be expected is a more full on sound, fat and juicy basslines, still uplifting and melodic with incursion into more nightish sound,” Mekkanikka states in an interview in mushroom magazine’s recent international edition (February 2006). “It seems strange for me to try to categorize music. As artists did in the past and as artists will do in the future, they experiment with their art and it may take them to a lot of different places …”
So, call it as you like, Nikka will intoxicate you anyway in the near future and take you with him ...

NICOLAS OESCH AKA NIKKA is the musical creator of the psytrance project Mekkanikka. Born in Switzerland, Nikka has been driven by music his whole life, expressing his talents at the age of eight with the piano, later in his teens attending jazz school and playing bass in punk bands around Europe. Eventually, he was led to California where he recorded local bands and began his career in audio production. Then he was introduced to the world of psytrance thru Burning Man and the infamous psytrance collective of the CCC in San Francisco, where he soon began producing and Dj.ing psytrance. In 1999, Nikka started the project of Biodegradable with Sammy Guediche (CPU) and Max Peterson (Sirus Isness), which gained quick recognition through tracks on compilations and from their album release of “Phaser” on Acid Dance Records in 2001.
Nikka then began his own super psychedelic project of Mekkanikka, releasing his debut album “Basic Tribal Pattern” in 2003 on Spirit Zone. Since then he has received lots of positive attention from international dance floors and has had about 20 releases on compilations from labels such as 3d Vision, Spirit Zone, Neurobiotic, Turbo Trance, Spliff, Agitato, Phantasm, and Materia Records - among them our compilations PLANETARY NATION Vol. 002 and GENERATION OF PSYTRANCE Vol. 001.
Mekkanikka is now living in Barcelona where he produced his second solo album “Intoxicated” and has been playing his cutting edge new sound around the world. Recently he collaborated with other psytrance artists such as Planet B.E.N., Inner Action, CPU, Bliss, Sirius_Isness, and Puzzle.

First track, by Mexicans JX & HAMILIN is called “Tha Groova” and tells it pretty much in its name: building up gently, it grooves hymnally towards the morning sky. You know Hamilin aka Hugo from his other project Xibalbá.
Grooving and floating we go on to “From here to there”, the two GAUDIUM guys from Sweden and VISUA aka Rodrigo Raggi from Mexico luxuriate in hypnotic easyness – just shut your eyes and lift off with them ...
Magical and Fabio aka FM played their remix to “Really Sick” quite a while now in their DJ sets, delivering the decent acidhouse hysteria of BITCRUSHER’s original with all its James Brownish ooh-yeahs and 80ies sound on a real crispy beat, that pushes everybody to the dance floor. Finally, they release the remix, which like the original is already legendary in Germany – and now share it with all of you out there!
DAY DIN from Hamburg/Germany contributes his share to fill the floor. But “Your Love” attracts the crowd in a very different way, loved not only by the ladies. Easily a dreamy groove gets into you – ... and as soon as the vocal sample starts, everybody on the floor will smile. Really beautiful. I’m in love with you ...
Crunchy Prog beat meets hypnotic sounds in BLACKOUT’s “Crystal Machine”. The two young producers from Israel develop an enticing melody out of their soundscapes, let it crawl into your ears slowly al the while dragging you deeper and deeper into their “Crystal Machine” ...
Talking about cutting edge catchy ProgDisco candy – you have to check the NEELIX tune! His “Disco Decay” remix will catch you immediately and implant RINKADINK’s vocoder vocals deep in your mind. Feel his bass, you will obey! Rocks the crowd in the morning as well as in the night.
Than it gets funky, “Hipster’s Tube” by SALARIS is psychedelic and kicking Progressive Trance at its best. Very nice news from Sangeet and Mullekular, two Hamburg based Trance activists from two generations, just in case you missed their wonderful live gig at VooV-Experience’s 2005 Alternative Floor.
Followed up by Mulle’s solo project KULARIS pushing the crowd with his phat Progressive “Citysoundz”. This city heaves irresistible percussion and easy acid sounds. Music that simply makes you move.
One more time we get back to ProgDisco – in “Horny Freak” the two BITCRUSHERs again combine the sounds of euphoric vibes from the old days with the means of very functional Off-Beat-Prog. Man, this is massive – please note how much fun you can have with just one simple vocal sample ... Catchy as hell, you’ll sing it all day long!

DJ MAGICAL is well known in Germany, being a very active part of the scene especially in the North for ages, not only on stage, but behind the scenes as well. He is A&R at PLANET B.E.N. RECORDS, being in charge of Progressive Trance.

Ihren FM-Remix von „Really Sick“ spielen Magical und Fabio ja schon eine ganze Weile in ihren Sets, er rührt die Club-Ursuppen-Hysterie des BITCRUSHER-Originals (der mit den spitzen Schreien und dem 80ies-Sound) noch einmal um und schiebt den Floor auf knackigeren Beats garantiert an. Endlich rücken die beiden den Remix raus!
DAY DIN aus Hamburg/Germany begeistert die Leute mit „Your Love“ genauso fett, aber auf ganz andere Art, und das gilt nicht nur für die Frauen. Leicht und trancig schiebt der Groove sich in die Beine - und wenn das Voice-Sample kommt, lächelt der ganze Floor. I’m in love with you ...
Schön knackige Prog-Beats und hypnotische Soundschichten produziert die „Crystal Machine“ von BLACKOUT, dem Duo aus Israel. Langsam schält sich eine unwiderstehliche Melodie heraus und saugt dich immer tiefer ein ...
Und wenn wir anfangs von Ohrwürmern und ProgDisco sprachen, ist NEELIX daran nicht ganz unschuldig. Der „Disco Decay“-Remix geht dir nicht mehr aus dem Ohr, so schön singt RINKADINK durch den Vocoder. Und aus den Beinen erst recht nicht. Hitfaktor zwölf! Rockt deinen Floor morgens genauso wie mitten in der Nacht.
Dann wird’s funky mit SALARIS. „Hipster’s Tube“ ist psychedelisch treibender Progressive Trance erster Güte. Wer Sangeet und Mullekular, zwei Hamburger Trance-Aktivposten aus zwei Generationen, auf dem Alternative Floor der VooV-Experience 2005 verpasst hat: Nun gibt’s wieder was Neues!
Gleich gefolgt von Mulles Solo-Projekt KULARIS und dem richtig fetten Progressive-Schieber „Citysoundz“. Die City klingt nach unwiderstehlicher Percussion und leichten Acidsounds. Echt keine Musik zum Sitzen!
Zu guter Letzt kommen wir noch mal auf die ProgDisco zurück – das letzte Wort haben die beiden BITCRUSHER. „Horny Freak“ schlägt wieder eine köstliche Brücke zwischen Sound und Euphorie früher Acid-Tanztage und dem unschlagbar funktionalen Off-Beat-Prog. Und wie viel Laune man mit einem einzigen Sample und etwas Fantasie verbreiten kann! Die Jungs haben einfach Spaß ... Ohrwurm! Hit! Denkt an unsere Worte.

DJ MAGICAL ist A&R für Progressive Trance bei PLANET B.E.N. RECORDS. Er ist als DJ besonders in Norddeutschland seit vielen Jahren bestens bekannt und auch hinter den Kulissen umtriebig.
